Our primary goal is to help your child become an independent, self-confident and inquisitve learner. We allow your child to learn at their own pace and in ways that are best for them individually. We help your child develop good habits, a positve attitude and a good sense of self. This approach leads your child to become an enthusiastic learner - a trait that will lead to success not only in preschool and their educational career, but throughout their life.
Progressive Curriculum
Our curriculum at Get Ready, Set, Grow Academy is incorporated into everything we do with your child. The activities we plan, the way we organize the environment, our selection of toys and teaching materials, the way we talk and read with your child and every other aspect of your child's day at Get Ready, Set Grow. Even the colors of the walls are carefully planned and designed to accompish the goals of our curriculum, to give your child a successful preschool experience.
As teachers we are inquisitve learners too. We are always looking for new ways to improve and enhance our curriculum for your child's benefit.
The Get Ready, Set, Grow Curriculum identifies goals and strategies in all areas of development:
Social: To help your child feel comfortable in their new environment, develop trust, make friends and feel part of the group
Emotional: To help your child experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control and have a positive outlook on life
Cognitive: To help your child become a confident learner by letting him or her experience success by acquiring learning skills such as the ablility to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe ideas, observations and feelings
Physical: To help your child increase their large and small motor skills through active play which leads them to feel confident and comfortable with their physical abilities
Academic: To help your child become academically advanced and acquire the skills and knowledge that will lead to success and transition to the best public and private elementary schools, including gifted and magnet programs.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
On The Grow
(Meets 1 hour 2 times a week and transitions to a 2 hour drop off)
Children must be 1 year old by June 1st for our On The Grow program. Our program offers a seamless transition for both children and parents into a working classroom. Our philosophy is that a child's first experience with school should be a positive one.
Great Beginnings (Almost Two's)
(Meets Tuesday and Thursday 1 1/2 hours each and transitions into a 2 hour drop off and in January the class becomes a 3 1/2 hour drop off program)
This program is for children with birthdays September through December. At Get Ready, Set, Grow Academy our Great Beginnings program is the beginning of a new adventure for our children turning 2. Our program provides activities that will foster positive growth and development in a nurturing environment. This program is a stepping stone for separation between parent and child.
Two Year Old Program (2, 3 and 5 half and full days available)
At Get Ready, Set, Grow Academy, we as teachers, realize that the two year old classroom is the child's first experience in preschool. Our goals are to help children separate and transition easily, fostering as sense of security by creating a warm, nurturing and inviting environment. Emphasis is placed on social interaction, age appropriate activities and themes that are fun and stimulating. Value is placed on the experience rather that the product. Our daily schedule is flexible while maintaining general classroom routines and rituals.
Three Year Old Program (5 half and full days available)
The program for our three-year-old classes is based on a thematic curriculum containing: letter, shapes, colors, numbers and a cognitive curriculum. Our curriculum takes into consideration the different developmental levels and needs of each child. A mixture of group and individual activities, passive and active, are combined to create an inviting and exciting classroom environment. Our goal is to make each preschool day a successful and positive experience for each and every child.
Pre-Kindergarten Program (5 full days available)
The Pre-Kindergarten program at Get Ready, Set, Grow Academy is a structured program consisting of rotations in the following subjects: Art, Computers, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and Spanish. Each subject offers an organized and hands-on environment that enhances the learning experience. A balance of play, discovery and participation are blended into our day for maximum interest and learning. We encourage the children to explore and interact with the environment around them and to interpret their experiences. Our program, through our nurturing environment, is able to prepare the children for a successful transition into elementary school.
